2010 Marketing Partnership

Auto Racing is recognized world wide as a tremendous marketing venue. No other form of advertising creates brand recognition and consumer loyalty like appealing to the broad based, affluent American road racing market. The value of sponsoring a race team cannot be underestimated. According to a Sports Business Journal survey, race fans as a whole are the most likely major sports fans to be able to name sponsors associated with the sport, and more than 92% of the time, those same race fans will make purchase decisions based on perceived corporate support to elements of their support. Moreover, studies have proven that over 84% of race fans will actually change brand loyalty to companies that openly support their sport.

With at least one hour of SPEED Channel national television coverage per race, the SCCA’s Volkswagen Jetta TDI series is easily the best value in national television coverage of any professional racing series in North America. And with the power of Volkswagen’s international marketing machine squarely behind the series, extensive print and online coverage are an added bonus. Additionally, the series is promoted and certified by Carbonfund as the world’s first “Green Racing” series, utilizing the 2009 “ Car of the Year” the VW Jetta “clean diesel”. This designation creates a unique following in the highly competitive series, which now attracts interest from the traditional race fan as well as a growing number of “non-traditional” race fans and media.

Throughout 2010, the VW TDI Cup races in conjunction with all the major North American Road Racing series. They are partnered with the American LeMans Series, (ALMS), the Grand Am Series, the Speed World Challenge series, and more – at the most prestigious racing facilities in the US and Canada. So who attends? The 2008 SPEED World Challenge series overview cites the fan base as primarily male, well-educated (almost 90% have more than a high school diploma), and affluent, with nearly 50% of households making more than $75,000 per annum. 70% of the fan base would consider purchasing a car based on a manufacturer’s involvement in racing. Additionally, a significant number of these fans are successful business owners or influential company executives. (ALMS, Grand-Am and World Challenge followers are among the upper echelon of race fans demographically), they are notably avid and loyal to these series; - with hundreds of thousands attending the races in person each year and millions more watching them on national television broadcasts.

A Unique Marketing Opportunity

A third generation racecar driver, Ryan began driving Quarter Midgets at age 4 and nearly won the first National Championship race he ever entered. 15 years later he finds himself with the opportunity of a lifetime: one of just 15 young drivers selected from across North American to join the exciting Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series for 2009. Ellis will travel across North America participating in heavily promoted events featuring hundreds of thousands of spectators, and broad based national TV and media coverage. Our company, Ryan Ellis Racing is uniquely positioned to provide you with the opportunity to use this as promotion tool for you and your business, (Ryan himself is a marketing major at George Mason University ).

Race fans have a deep appreciation for every aspect of their sport, and hold in high respect those who choose to participate as sponsors. As your partner and now -as a participant in the TDI Series - RER can position you to effectively tap into this winning marketing phenomenon:  at the track, on the road, over the airwaves or in your showroom. We offer a unique, highly affordable blend of tailored local and national marketing coverage. Additionally, we offer fully hosted VIP track hospitality, where our partners enjoy the rewards of being affiliated with a successful professional national sports team, while mingling with customers, business partners, and employees.

Partnering with a Champion

Success has its rewards. Over the years, racecars supported by Ryan Ellis Racing have been featured in dozens of Public Appearances. Each year since 2002, Ryan displays his race cars at the Washington International Auto Show; in 2008 we also conducted week-long displays on behalf of our sponsors at Allsports Grand Prix and at other sponsor’s facilities. Ryan is a regularly featured guest on DC’s #1 rated talk station, WJFK, and has been featured in dozens of newspaper articles and television sports programs throughout the metro Washington DC area. He has been showcased as a Rising Star and profiled in several National Auto Racing publications. Ryan’s racing accomplishments, at just age 19, are astounding:

The last several seasons have established Ashburn’s Ryan Ellis as one of the most gifted young drivers in the nation. His 2009 acceptance into the VW TDI Cup proves just that. We have a busy season planned; combining the excitement of a national professional race series with both local oval and road racing opportunities, and with your partnership Ryan is determined to help us all achieve our goals through participation with RER in our 2009 race marketing program. Come join us for the ride of a lifetime!
